Construction Safety ALERT!
December 5, 2007 Dear Parents and Guardians, To ensure the safety of adults and students alike, I must ask that every adult dropping off or picking up a child make certain to cross both Rhawn Street and Torresdale Avenue with the light at the corner. Please do not cross in the middle of the street! I understand that our construction has inconvenienced many people as well as having created strange traffic patterns and a lack of parking. The NFCS parents, students and staff, as well as the neighborhood residents, will all have to find a safe way to deal with these unavoidable changes, which will last for the majority, if not all, of the rest of the school year. As I’ve said, this situation won’t end anytime soon and as the weather worsens during the winter the situation will surely do the same. We all must find a way to be patient about the inconveniences that are occurring and that will certainly escalate. Following the procedures that we’ve developed for pick-up and drop-off is crucial in helping to alleviate the congestion and, above all, keep everyone safe! Parking where you are not allowed to park and blocking the school buses (along side the school on both Rhawn Street and Torresdale Avenue), double parking and stopping traffic, and especially crossing in the middle of the street through traffic is not safe and only adds to the confusion. I want to be very clear as to the exact procedures we need every NFCS family to follow during construction. 1. Do not park on the school sides of Rhawn Street and Torresdale Avenue. 2. Do not block a school bus from parking. 3. Do not double park and block traffic. 4. Do not cross in the middle of the street against traffic. Cross at the corner. If everyone will follow these procedures then everyone can remain safe. Sincerely, Mr. Paul Stadelberger Principal « Return to the Listing of Articles |
