Construction Update!
October 26, 2007
October 26, 2007
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
As I’m sure you are probably aware, New Foundations Charter School needs additional space for our program. We have planned to build a three story addition on the front of the building. This addition will include office space and a large lecture hall on the first floor, and six classrooms, a computer lab, a science lab and a media center on the second and third floors. When the addition in the front is completed, we will then convert the existing conference room, main office, the vice-principal’s office and the principal’s office into three additional classrooms.
The building of the addition has now become a reality! Construction has already begun. We hope to complete the construction by September 2008. There will be a number of phases to this construction. The first phase will encompass re-routing the drains, building additional parking, and preparing the foundation. The next phase will include the building of the frame and roof. Next, will be the interior of the building, and finishing the various rooms. Then during summer vacation, the existing offices will be converted into classrooms.
During this construction, we hope not to disrupt the routines, or instruction, however some disruptions will occur. A main disruption to our routines will be morning and afternoon drop off and pick up, and parking! BEGINNING MONDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2007, during morning drop-off and afternoon pickup, there will be no driving through the driveway behind the gym building! In the afternoon, we will need to keep the vehicle gate on Rhawn Street open and at least two parking spaces west of the gate open, to allow buses easy access to the turn onto Rhawn Street. Your cooperation is appreciated. During construction, there will be no on-site parking available. The parking areas that are open are used by the students during recess times.
There may/will be other changes in schedules/drop-off and pickups/parking/etc. that may occur due to the construction. I will try to give you as much notice as possible to minimize any inconvenience. Please check our website (www.nfcsonline.org) for updates on any changes. I’m sorry for any problems that may arise due to the construction; however I’m quite sure they will be worth it once the addition is complete.
Thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Mr. Paul Stadelberger
CEO
