In order to continue and expand opportunities for our students, NFCS continues to actively seek out funding to support programs. Over the past years, NFCS has been pleased to accept a number of grants for its students, and has utilized the funds to bring new possibilities to our students and the community. Some of our major grants include:
Institute for Global Education and Service Learning---Youth Organized for Disaster Action (2004-2007)
Funding for service learning program focusing on disaster awareness and emergency preparedness.
National Youth Leadership Council---National Service Learning Conference—Video Production (2005-2008)
Funding to attend the conference, and to purchase video production equipment.
PA Department of Education—Learn and Serve America (2003-2009)
Funding for the Youth Driven Service Learning Center, and other service learning initiatives at NFCS.
PA Department of Education—21st Century Community Learning Centers (2004-2009)
Funding for afterschool, summer, and adult programming for the Community C.A.R.E.S. Learning Center.
Philadelphia Youth Network—Summer Employment Program (2005-2007)
Funding for a 6-week summer internship program for high school students during the summer.
Public/Private Ventures—Youth Education for Tomorrow (2007-2008)
Funding for an afterschool literacy intervention program for 25 kindergarten and first graders.
State Farm Insurance---Project Ignition (2007-2008)
Funding for teen safe driving campaign for NFCS alumni.
