Mission:
The Community CARES Learning Center aims to be a center of community involvement that addresses serious issues facing the community’s families. The mission of this Center is to provide youth, adults, families, and community members with the resources and programs they need to enjoy a healthy life through innovative fitness, health, education, art, literacy, and family life initiatives. This Center represents a partnership between First Philadelphia Charter School for Literacy (Frankford Valley Site) and New Foundations Charter School (Holmesburg Site). This Center will strive to be a place of learning, enrichment, and growth through Collaboration, Arts, Recreation, Education, and Service with curriculum available to every member of the community.

Description:
Collaborating together to build this new learning center, programs are available to the entire community at both NFCS, located at Torresdale Avenue and Rhawn Street, and First Philadelphia, located at Church and Tacony Streets. Both sites have after school programs for kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, NFCS offers a variety of programs for elementary through high school students that focus on arts, fitness, technology, service, and healthy lifestyles, as well as workshops, activities, and service opportunities for families. NFCS also holds 1-on-1 tutoring and preparatory classes for the Terra Nova, PSAT, and SAT standardized tests.
