Career Exposure Summer Academy

Rising 8th Graders

The Career Exposure Summer Academy at New Foundations Charter School is a Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) funded program. Participants will explore 21st Century skill building, college, and career exploration, and help students better navigate 8th grade and high school to lead to a more successful future.  Students will complete a service learning project, and take trips to local universities and to business such as Comcast, Wells Fargo, Pizza Brain, the local Firehouse, etc. Students also have the opportunity to earn up to $50/week for their participation.

To be eligible for this program, students must be:

  • Between the ages of 12-14 AND be a current 7th grader (8th grade in fall of 2019)
  • A resident of Philadelphia
  • Available for a 6-week summer program on Tuesdays-Thursdays, 8:30am-3:30pm from July 9th-August 15th
  • Able to get to and from New Foundations (8001 Torresdale Ave, 19136) for the program

Interested students must attend one of the mandatory Career Summits:

Option 1 – Saturday, April 6th 9am-12pm (9-11:15 student only, 11:15-12 student and parent/guardian)

Option 2 – Monday, April 8th 4:30pm-7:30pm (4:30-6:45 student only, 6:45-7:30 student and parent/guardian)
