Virtual Summer School Program 2020

Our goal is to reinforce fundamental skills within each grade band/subject that will provide meaningful practice to assist these students in preparing for the next school year over a five-week period (Monday, July 6 to Friday, August 7). K-6 Summer Camp

High School Work ExperiencePrograms

New Foundations is so excited to be offering the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) Work Experience Program online this summer! This program is a great opportunity for youth to stay engaged over the summer while learning important skills to get them ready for their first job. Students will be able to explore different career paths, learn about financial literacy, and participate in workshops with professionals from various fields. For this program, student participants need to be Philadelphia residents, 14-18 years of age on July 1, 2020, available for a summer program from July 6th-August 14th, through a digital experience.

The program will build 21st Century skills, develop academic and technical skills, build character, and help students better navigate real work experiences to lead to a more successful future. Participants will also complete a reflective work-based learning project, all while earning up to $595.

How to Apply:

Online applications must be completed and submitted in order to move on to the next step in the application process. Once your application is completed, you will receive an email from pyn@nfcs.k12.pa.us with additional forms and steps on how to provide supplemental documents.

Youth Participants Must Provide:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • School District of Philadelphia ID (not Charter)/State ID OR Photo ID AND Proof of Residency (report card with an address, official mail- has to have youth name and address)

Career Exposure Summer Academy

For this program, student participants need to be Philadelphia residents, current 7th graders (8th grade in fall of 2020), available for a 6-week summer program from July 6th-August 14th and must be able to engage online during these days. The Career Exposure Summer Academy Program will allow students to build 21st Century skills, explore various college and career options, learn to better navigate 8th grade and high school to lead to a more successful future. In addition to all of this, students will have the opportunity to earn up to $595 for their active participation!
