K-12 Resources

NFCS is the only school in Philadelphia able to offer students an engineering curriculum from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The emphasis in this curriculum is on problem-based group learning, while also becoming familiar with the engineering design process.

For K-5, we offer the PLTW Launch program. This includes two modules over a 4-week period during the school year.

For 6-8 grades, we offer the PLTW Gateway program. This consists of one 9-week module each school year, and takes place during science class. We currently offer the following modules: Automation and Robotics, Design and Modeling, and Introduction to Computer Science.

For our high school students, we have year-long courses, and are looking to offer Engineering and Computer Science pathways. Our current courses are: Introduction to Engineering, Principles of Engineering, and Computer Science Essentials AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science Applications.
